Escalator Replacement at Woodcrest, 12/13th and 15/16th Stations
PATCO is replacing escalators at the Woodcrest, 12th/13th and Locust Street and 15th/16th and Locust Street rail stations.
Power Cable and Pole Line Replacement
Replacing wooden poles with new, more durable fiberglass poles, as well as replacing the 26.4KV and 2.4 KV power cables along the PATCO line between Lindenwold and Camden, New Jersey. In addition, fiber optic and other communications and signaling cables will be replaced as required to complete work in a manner minimally disruptive to the operation of the PATCO High Speed Line.
Ferry Avenue and 9/10th Locust Elevator Rehabilitation
Elevators at Ferry Avenue and 9th/10th and Locust Street stations are functional and open for the public's use. The contract is substantially completed as of September 10, 2013.
PATCO Ventilation Rehabilitation Project
PATCO is replacing old subway vents and vaults in Philadelphia and Camden, where the trains run underground. Work in Philadelphia is substantially completed, and PATCO is preparing to complete the project in Camden in early 2014.
Transit Car Overhaul Project
Over the next few years, PATCO plans to overhaul the interiors of all 120 rail cars in service. To date, twenty-six PATCO cars have been delivered to the Alstom plant for overhaul. Two prototype cars are scheduled to return to Lindenwold before the end of 2013.
