When is FREEDOM Coming?

PATCO is still in the pilot phase of the FREEDOM program. New fare gates and Automated Vending Machines have been installed at all PATCO stations. This equipment will operate along side PATCO’s legacy (old) magnetic system, so that passengers may continue to use their plastic magnetic tickets during this period of transition.

Implementation at other stations will follow successful testing.

Who can use FREEDOM now?

PATCO test pilots who have been issued FREEDOM cards for use during the pilot phase.

Riders who choose to purchase the new Paper magnetic ticket can travel with this fare media between Lindenwold, Ashland, Woodcrest, Haddonfield, Westmont, Collingswood, Ferry Avenue, Broadway, City Hall and Philadelphia stations (8th & Market Sts., 9/10th, 12/13th, and 16th and Locust Stations).

Paper magnetic ticket expires 3 days from purchase.

The new Paper Magnetic Tickets can only be used in the new fare paddle gates.

The legacy (old) plastic magnetic tickets can only be used in the old fare collection turnstile type gates.
