Ride PATCO to the Philadelphia Flower Show!
The Philadelphia Flower Show is coming to town, and PATCO trains will run every 15 minutes during the weekends of February 28-March 1 and March 7-8 to accommodate the thousands of extra passengers attending the Show. Normally, the weekend schedule has trains every 30 minutes.
“The Flower Show is an immensely popular event, and we want to make PATCO convenient for everyone who wants to attend,” says Mike Williams of DRPA/PATCO Communications. “The best way to get to the Show from South Jersey is by riding PATCO. Parking is free at our stations after 10 a.m. and the Pennsylvania Convention Center is a short walk from our 8
th/Market St. Station.”
Special brochures with maps are available online on our website and will be available at all PATCO stations to help passengers find their way from the PATCO station at 8
th and Market to the Convention Center at 12
th and Arch. Visitors who walk underground can stop by the ticket office at SEPTA’s Jefferson Station to
purchase discounted tickets for the Flower Show, with savings up to $4 off.
The theme of this year’s show is “Lights, Camera, Bloom: Celebrate the Movies,” with inspiration taken from Disney and Pixar movies. Information about the show can be found
here.
As always, children who are four years old and younger ride free on PATCO, and regular fares apply for all customers aged five and older. PATCO ticket machines are cash-only for regular tickets; PATCO accepts credit and debit cards only for the purchase of Freedom Cards.
