DRPA Transit Officer Arrests Suspected Bank Robber

While on routine patrol Wednesday Afternoon at the PATCO Broadway Station Transit Officer Allison Mankoski spotted someone she thought she recognized from a surveillance photo. The man bought a ticket and Officer Mankoski followed him downstairs to the train platform. After engaging him in conversation, the officer determined this man was suspect in two local bank robberies and convinced him to surrender without incident. Placed under arrest was 33-year-old Keith Cummings of Pennsauken, New Jersey. He was charged with two separate counts of first degree robbery in connection with the September 5th robbery of the Bank of America in Washington Township, New Jersey and the September 2nd robbery of the Sun National Bank in Somerdale, New Jersey. Cummings is being held in the Gloucester County, New Jersey, jail on $500,000 bail. DRPA CEO and PATCO President, John J. Matheussen, said “this high profile apprehension by Officer Mankoski is not only impressive, but also exemplifies the type of vigilance and professionalism of our Public Safety officers.” The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
