Twitter is one of the latest social networking tools on the internet people use to communicate in real time. And now PATCO posts “tweets” as well - http://www.twitter.com/RidePATCO. There is no charge to use the service.
PATCO is joining with other transit systems which use Twitter to send out messages about service, directions, and calendars of events. Twitter also gives PATCO the opportunity to review postings from our riders detailing their experiences.
PATCO President, John J. Matheussen, says “this is just one more way PATCO provides our riders with important information. Posting advisories on Twitter joins our website, www.ridepatco.org, and E-Alerts, in giving our customers the most up to date information regarding PATCO service.
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, PATCO and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal. The DRPA also owns the RiverLink Ferry.
