All Aboard! Seeing Eye Puppies Take Their First PATCO Train Ride

PATCO was proud to welcome several future guide dogs from the Seeing Eye Puppy Raisers of Gloucester County, New Jersey, for their first-ever train ride!

The puppies boarded a westbound PATCO train and traveled to Philadelphia, where they visited several destinations, including the National Constitution Center.

While it was an exciting adventure, the trip also served an important purpose: helping the puppies build confidence and prepare for their future roles as guide dogs.

Learning Through Experience
Every part of the journey provided valuable training opportunities. From riding the train to navigating busy streets, heavy traffic and crowds of pedestrians, the puppies experienced the sights and sounds of city life in a safe, structured way.

The Seeing Eye Puppy Raisers have been using PATCO for several years to help socialize and prepare these future guide dogs for the important work ahead.

The Seeing Eye's mission is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind through the use of seeing eye dogs. When fully trained, these dogs help their partners navigate the world with greater confidence and independence.

PATCO is proud to be part of these puppies' journey toward changing lives, one ride at a time!

Want to help raise a future guide dog? The Seeing Eye is always looking for puppy-raising families. Learn more at seeingeye.org/puppy-raising.
