Fares

The distance you travel determines your fare. One-trip and two-trip (round trip) tickets can be purchased with cash from self-service vending machines at each station.

Reduced Fare Program

Reduced Fare Program (RFP) FREEDOM cards are available to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and Medicare card holders. See [ More Information ]


Child Fares

No additional charge for children under five years of age when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.


SEPTA Tickets

A reduced fare, round-trip ticket is available for $2.60 (cash or value on a FREEDOM card) from self-service vending machines at PATCO stations in New Jersey. These tickets are valid on selected SEPTA bus and subway links in Center City Philadelphia from an interchange point with PATCO.

The info is as follows:

Market Frankford Line
Broad Street Subway and Broad-Ridge Spur
Subway Surface Routes 10, 11, 13, 34, and 36
Bus routes 2, 4, 9, 12, 16, 21, 23, 27, 32, 33, 38, 42, 44, 47, 47M, 48, 61, and 121.

The transfer is dispensed as two separate tickets:

  • one is valid for 1 hour from the time of purchase and is to be used on any of the specified lines from a point connecting with PATCO;
  • one is marked valid for 24 hours and is to be used on any of the specified lines to return to PATCO. This transfer will be valid for 24 hours except that Saturday, Sunday, or legal holidays shall not be counted. Therefore, the return ride transfer purchased on Friday or Saturday is valid until Monday; the return ride purchased on Sunday is valid through Tuesday.

Sales Offices

For FREEDOM smart card service, stop at Broadway Station (Walter Rand Transportation Center) any weekday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Please note that the Service Center will not be open on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas Day.
