PATCO Adds Early-Morning Service for Bike MS: City to Shore Ride

Trains every 15 minutes will help participants reach Woodcrest Station

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and PATCO are proud to once again host the start of the annual National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Bike MS: City to Shore Ride on Saturday, September 26.

PATCO is providing increased service on Saturday morning to help participants conveniently reach the event's starting point at Woodcrest Station in Cherry Hill.

This year's ride is expected to bring more than 3,500 participants, who have raised nearly $3 million in support of the fight against multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease of the central nervous system. Proceeds from the ride support medical research and community service programs aimed at improving the lives of people affected by MS and ultimately finding a cure.

Rider Tips for Saturday, September 26:

Trains Every 15 Minutes:
PATCO trains will operate every 15 minutes Saturday morning from 4:30 a.m. until 8:05 a.m. to accommodate Bike MS participants traveling to Woodcrest Station.

Traveling With Bikes:

Bicycles are permitted on PATCO trains at all times.
Cyclists must yield to other passengers in stations and aboard trains.
Bicycles are not permitted on escalators. Please use elevators.
While aboard, cyclists must keep the kickstand up and firmly hold their bicycle between the windscreens at the non-platform-side doorway.
Bicycles may not be ridden in stations, on platforms or aboard trains. Cyclists may not sit on their bicycles in these areas.

One-Way Fares To Woodcrest Station:

From Philadelphia Stations: $3.00
From New Jersey Stations: $1.60

Ways to Pay:

Tap & Go: Riders can pay their fare directly at a designated fare gate using a contactless credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Riders using Tap & Go must use the same card or device to enter and exit the PATCO system.
One-Ride Ticket with Cash: Riders paying with cash can purchase a one-ride ticket from a PATCO ticket vending machine. Insert the ticket into the slot on the right-hand side of the wide fare gate and take it with you. The ticket is required to exit at Woodcrest Station.

Woodcrest Station Parking Information:

Portions of the Woodcrest Station parking lot will be closed beginning at 12 a.m. Friday, September 25, through 5 p.m. Sunday, September 27, to accommodate the event.
Participants in the charity biking event are permitted to leave their cars in the parking lot longer than the standard 24-hour time frame. Non-cyclists will still need to call and request an exception to this rule at (856) 772-6968 prior to parking in a PATCO lot.
Motorists should review the designated parking areas and follow all posted instructions. Customers who park at Woodcrest during this period should make sure their vehicles are in the designated customer parking areas. Vehicles parked in areas scheduled for closure must be removed by the posted times.
