PATCO Offers More Ways to Pay with Tap & Go

Customers can pay at the gate with a contactless card or mobile wallet

PATCO customers can pay their fares with contactless credit and debit cards or mobile wallets at designated Tap & Go gates throughout the system. Tap & Go gives customers another way to pay alongside PATCO's existing FREEDOM Cards and tickets.

"Tap & Go provides customers another convenient way to ride PATCO, whether they travel regularly or riding for the first time," said John D. Rink, PATCO General Manager. "They can pay with a card or phone they already carry, while still having the option to use PATCO's existing fare options."

What customers can use:

• At designated Tap & Go gates: Contactless Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit or debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
• Existing fare options: FREEDOM Cards, FREEDOM SHARE Cards, Reduced Fare Program Cards, Transit Benefits Cards and paper tickets continue to be accepted. Customers can still use cash at ticket vending machines to purchase fares.

How to use Tap & Go:

• Look for a gate marked with Tap & Go signage.
• Tap a contactless card or a mobile device to enter.
• At your destination, tap out at a designated Tap & Go fare gate using the same card or device.

PATCO fares are based on the distance traveled. Using the same card or device to enter and exit allows the correct fare to be charged. Each rider must use their own card or device.

From workdays and game days to date nights and everyday trips, PATCO connects South Jersey and Philadelphia with frequent train service, parking at stations and now the added convenience of Tap & Go.
