The Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) today announced the launch of Seating Plus, a new product offering that will allow riders to reserve a preferred seat before boarding.

Beginning May 4, PATCO riders will have the option to customize their commute by selecting a seat in advance, offering a more personalized and predictable travel experience.

Through Seating Plus, riders can upgrade their trip with:

• Window (bridge or waterfront view) or aisle selection
• Extra legroom (Up to 1" roomier)
• Priority seating locations near doors
• Dynamic pricing ($1 to $3 per trip) during peak travel times

Riders will be able to view available seating and select their preferred option prior to boarding. Once onboard, payment can be completed quickly and securely by scanning a QR code located at each reserved seat.

"We are always looking for ways to enhance the rider experience and give customers more flexibility in how they travel," said John D. Rink, PATCO General Manager. "Seating Plus introduces a new level of choice and convenience, allowing riders to tailor their trip to better fit their preferences."

An enhanced Seating Plus+ tier could debut in 2027, offering a limited number of premium seats at the front of the train with a forward-facing view of the trip, bringing back a perspective riders haven't seen since before the railcar refurbishments in 2015.
