PATCO is kicking off the holiday season with festive, family-friendly train rides featuring Santa Claus and his cheerful team of elves. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, riders can hop aboard the "Silver Sleigh" for one of three special holiday-themed trips designed to bring a little extra magic to the season.
Each train will be decorated for the holidays and feature seasonal music, joyful surprises, and plenty of opportunities for children and families to enjoy the ride with Santa.
The celebration doesn't end when customers step off the train. Riders are encouraged to extend their holiday outing in Philadelphia with visits to Christmas Village in Love Park, Winter in Franklin Square, the Wanamaker Light Show, and the "Christmas Carol" animated scenes. Ice skating at the Rothman Rink in Dilworth Park and other downtown festivities are also just steps away.
As part of the day's festivities, the DRPA Police Department will be at Lindenwold Station collecting new, unwrapped toys for their holiday Stuff-a-Cruiser initiative. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers will work to fill a police vehicle that has been transformed into a festive, light-covered holiday cruiser. The brightly lit cruiser, covered in thousands of Christmas lights, will be on display as part of the department's season-long effort to bring joy to children in our communities. In addition to the collection during the Silver Sleigh event, toy donation barrels are available on weekday mornings at New Jersey stations from Lindenwold to Ferry Avenue for those who wish to contribute throughout the season.
Special Silver Sleigh Departure Times from New Jersey:
Regular fares apply for all customers ages five and older; children four and under ride free.
"The Silver Sleigh has become one of our favorite annual traditions at PATCO," said John Rink, PATCO General Manager. "Our employees look forward to it every year because it's a fun way for us to give back to the communities we serve. It's a chance for families to enjoy a memorable ride together and an easy way to connect to all the great holiday events in Philadelphia. We are proud to help make the season a little brighter for our riders."
