PATCO Board Approves Fare Hike Postponement
The PATCO Board of Commissioners has approved postponing a 10 percent fare hike that was scheduled to take effect in September of 2010. The fare hike is now scheduled to take effect in January of 2011.
In announcing the decision, Board Chairman, John Estey, said “during this time of economic hardship it is our hope to reduce the burden on PATCO customers.”
Board Vice-Chair, Jeff Nash, said this is a small part of what we can to do help commuters who are struggling to get to work because of the economy.”
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, PATCO and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal. The DRPA also owns the RiverLink Ferry.
