Flooding of Ferry Avenue Parking Lot on 7/14/10
Wednesday’s (July 14, 2010) high intensity storm and heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in the region, including at PATCO’s Ferry Avenue Station. The problem at Ferry Avenue results from drainage issues in areas over which DRPA and PATCO have no control. Storm water runoff from streets upstream from Ferry Avenue caused our parking lot to flood. At the same time, flooding downstream of Ferry Avenue prevented adequate drainage of the lot.
Despite the fact that the problems arise outside of our property, DRPA and PATCO continue to work with the responsible agencies to find solutions to the drainage issues that cause occasional flooding at Ferry Avenue.
PATCO regrets any inconvenience or damage that customers experienced as a result of the flooding.
