Stepped up Service Schedules on the High-Speed Line
At Red Bull Flugtag, you can flap, bumble or soar across the Delaware River on an airborne contraption made of fabric, tubes, staples, glue, feathers and chutzpah.
Or you can just take PATCO. Six-car trains on the high-speed line between Lindenwold and Philadelphia will run every eight minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. After 5 p.m., trains will run every 15 minutes.
“If your Batman cape is still at the cleaners – or if you can’t get to that helicopter backpack in the garage behind the snow blower – we’re prepared to take you across the river in style and comfort,” said PATCO General Manager John Rink. “Trains will be running on accelerated schedules, and we’ll be putting extra cashiers on duty at high-traffic stations.”
“Plus, our passengers stay dry,” Rink said. “Most Flugtag flyers aren’t so fortunate.”
Event organizers will begin admitting the public to Flugtag at 11 a.m. The first flight will take off at 1 p.m. PATCO advises riders from Philadelphia to exit at Broadway Station. Riders from New Jersey are advised to exit at the City Hall Station.
PATCO encourages passengers with strollers, wheelchairs or limited mobility to use Broadway Station, which offers elevator and escalator service.
In addition to the PATCO ticket-vending machines, live agents will be on hand to sell PATCO tickets at the two SEPTA cashier booths at the 8th & Market Street Station.
