Credit and Debit Card Use Temporarily Limited

LINDENWOLD, N.J. – Because of a software malfunction, credit and debit cards cannot be used to add value to PATCO FREEDOM cards, either at station vending machines or online.
The problem surfaced on Saturday evening and PATCO is working to resolve it as soon as possible. PATCO apologizes for the inconvenience.
In the meantime, customers still can use cash to load value onto their FREEDOM cards at vending machines located in PATCO stations.
Customers who are signed up for automatic value loads will not be affected by the software malfunction. Value will continue to load onto their FREEDOM cards, but PATCO will be unable to send transactions out for settlement. Once the automated payment system begins functioning properly, all pending transactions will be sent out for settlement, and customers will see the transactions on their account statements.
