A Statement Regarding PATCO Police Call Boxes and Security Cameras
LINDENWOLD, N.J. – “Over the past few days, PATCO has noticed an increased customer interest, expressed primarily through social media, in the operational status of station and parking lot police call boxes and security cameras,” said DRPA Acting CEO John T. Hanson.
“For the record, Delaware River Port Authority police regularly check PATCO call boxes and security cameras,” Hanson said. “In fact, our call boxes and security cameras were inspected as recently as last week.”
When call boxes or cameras fail a routine inspection, PATCO sends them to a contractor for a diagnostic examination and repairs.
“Because some of our customers are expressing concern about the state of our call boxes and cameras, the DRPA chief of police has ordered a thorough, additional inspection of the system,” Hanson said. “Although we expect to find a fully functioning network of call boxes and security cameras, we promise to repair or replace any malfunctioning units we might encounter.”
