LINDENWOLD, N.J.- PATCO announced today that it will operate on special schedules on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 2, 3 and 4, because of the Independence Day holiday.
“The Thursday schedule features more afternoon and evening trains than usual, as well as additional trains earlier in the afternoon,” said PATCO General Manager John Rink. “We want to accommodate riders leaving work early to get a jump on their holiday weekend.”
Friday, July 3, is a holiday for many workers, so PATCO expects fewer rush-hour riders. Trains will operate at 15-minute intervals between 7am and 6:30pm westbound (toward Philadelphia) and between 7:37am and 7:05pm eastbound (toward New Jersey). Trains Friday evening will operate every 20 minutes between 6:30 and 11:30pm westbound and 7:05 and 11:45pm eastbound, then resume regular overnight schedules. The FREEDOM Service Center will be closed Friday.
Saturday, July 4, Independence Day, is the big day and, again, PATCO will increase frequencies to accommodate everyone who wants to attend holiday events on either side of the Delaware, including the annual party, concert and fireworks on Philadelphia’s Ben Franklin Parkway. Trains will run every 15 minutes between 7am and 11:30pm westbound and between 7:37am and 11:52pm eastbound. After that, the normal overnight schedules will resume.
Trains on Sunday, July 5 will operate on the usual weekend schedule.
The special Thursday, Friday and Saturday holiday schedules will be posted in all 13 PATCO stations and can be found online.
