More trains, less wait for Saturday riders
LINDENWOLD, NJ: Beginning Saturday, April 9, PATCO will adjust its timetable to enhance service and schedule reliability for customers. The new schedule increases Saturday service frequency with trains running every 20 minutes instead of 25 minutes. The new schedule also maintains the frequency of trains to up to every 4 minutes during Monday through Friday rush periods and every 12 minutes during Monday through Friday mid-days. Sunday service frequency remains the same with trains running every 30 minutes.
New schedule at-a-glance:
The increase in Saturday trains builds upon the enhanced service debuted in the January 2nd timetable. Completion of the Ben Franklin Bridge Track Rehabilitation Project has enabled PATCO to provide riders with more frequent service. This 18-month, $103 million project rehabilitated the north and south passenger rail tracks crossing the Delaware River on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. The project replaced wood ties, running rails, supporting steel trusses, electrical cabling and signaling systems.
In an effort to continue to improve the quality and efficiency of service, PATCO will begin a 30-month, $13.9 million project to replace both the eastbound and westbound elevated tracks at and near the Westmont station.
“With the successful completion of the bridge track project, we’re pleased to provide our customers with additional Saturday trains,” said John D. Rink, PATCO General Manager. “We are always seeking ways to improve our service and these rehabilitation projects are an important part of the plan.”
Printed timetables will be placed in station timetable racks before the new schedule takes effect on April 9. To view the schedule now, click here.
