PATCO to Host Start/Finish of MS 150 City to Shore Bike Tour

More than 6,000 bicyclists are expected to take part in this weekend’s 27th Annual MS 150 City to Shore Bike Tour benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Greater Delaware Valley. For the past 18 years, PATCO and the Delaware River Port Authority have hosted the start and finish of the two-day ride from Cherry Hill to Ocean City, NJ, and back. Riders leave Saturday, Sept. 29 at approximately 6:30 a.m. from the parking lot of PATCO’s Woodcrest Station in Cherry Hill and return Sunday, Sept. 30. Riders may elect to ride the 150 miles or face the Century Challenge – a 100-mile ride followed by 75 miles for the return trip Sunday. Other options include a 25-mile ride or a 45-mile, one-day ride from Hammonton, NJ, to Ocean City on Saturday. Each rider is asked to raise a minimum of $250. Officials hope to raise more than $4 million to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system. Over the years, many PATCO and DRPA employees, their friends and family have participated in the event. This year, 12 riders and volunteers will represent the PATCO/DRPA Team. Cyclists can start their trip on PATCO to reach the starting line at the Woodcrest Station. Special train service will operate between Woodcrest and all other PATCO stations both Saturday and Sunday. PATCO trains will take participants from Center City Philadelphia with stops at 15th & 16th, 12th & 13th and 9th & 10th on Locust Street, or 8th & Market streets to Woodcrest Station. In New Jersey, PATCO trains will stop at eight stations en route to Woodcrest. Free parking is available at seven New Jersey stations. On Saturday, September 29, trains will leave 16th & Locust, Philadelphia, at the following times: 4:00 a.m. 5:40 a.m. 7:00 a.m. 8:20 a.m. 4:40 a.m. 6:00 a.m. 7:20 a.m. 8:40 a.m. 5:00 a.m. 6:20 a.m. 7:40 a.m. 9:00 a.m. 5:20 a.m. 6:40 a.m. 8:00 a.m. Trains will leave Lindenwold at the following times: 4:00 a.m. 5:30 a.m. 6:50 a.m. 8:10 a.m. 4:30 a.m. 5:50 a.m. 7:10 a.m. 8:30 a.m. 4:50 a.m. 6:10 a.m. 7:30 a.m. 8:50 a.m. 5:10 a.m. 6:30 a.m. 7:50 a.m. 9:10 a.m. On Sunday, September 30, trains will be available to accommodate those returning from Ocean City, NJ.
