Cash only transactions from 3 p.m. Saturday (9/1) until 4 a.m. Tuesday (9/4)
Due to a necessary upgrade of the fare system, credit and debit card transactions at all station ticket vending machines and online FREEDOM Card loading will be unavailable from 3 p.m. on Saturday, 9/1 until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, 9/4. The ticket machines will accept CASH ONLY for all transactions during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This latest upgrade is in preparation of the upcoming FREEDOM Share Card launch. The Share Card will allow customers to ride on PATCO and SEPTA using one fare card/media.
Due to the large scope of the upgrade and the need to allocate a period of several days, PATCO identified the Labor Day Weekend because of historically low ridership. Scheduling the upgrades during the extended holiday weekend should also minimize the disruption to the majority of our commuting customers.
FREEDOM Cards and tickets will still be accepted at all PATCO fare gates. Customers who have previously signed up for automatic loading of their FREEDOM Card will not see any change and Freedom cards will load normally.
The FREEDOM Card Customer Service Center will be closed on Monday, September 3rd. Customers who wish to report lost or stolen cards should still call 1-877-373-6777 and leave a message. Your card balance is guaranteed from the time the message is left
