Inaugural event provides local students with essential items for class
Students and teachers in the Camden School District are better equipped for academic success this year following the Delaware River Port Authority’s Back to School Supply Drive.
In an effort to “build connections and serve the community,” the Authority partnered with the Rutgers University Art Center to support the students and teachers in the community.
As a result of the generosity of employees and customers, the month-long supply drive was a resounding success. Collection points were hosted at all DRPA facilities and at PATCO’s Ashland, Woodcrest and Ferry Avenue train stations. The locations provided an opportunity for our customers, as well as our employees to participate.
“This is a great example of our customers and employees being active in the community,” DRPA CEO John Hanson said. “This is part of our stewardship mission and the kindness of our customers and employees is overwhelming. We are beyond proud to play a part in the academic success of the students and teachers this school year.”
