Emergency preparedness exercise requires station closure from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m.
PATCO will be conducting an emergency preparedness exercise on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the Ashland Station in Voorhees, New Jersey. The exercise will simulate an emergency onboard a PATCO train located on the tracks near the Ashland Station.
The exercise will require the closing of the Ashland Station between 4 a.m. and 12 p.m. All other PATCO stations between Lindenwold, New Jersey and Philadelphia will be open.
More than 75 people will be involved with the exercise. Exercise participants will include PATCO personnel as well as DRPA Public Safety, local police, EMS and fire departments. PATCO passengers riding past the Ashland Station should be aware while they may notice police activity on track area, it is part of an exercise and they should not be concerned.
"Annual exercises like this are just one of the many ways PATCO ensures the safety of our employees and customers," said PATCO General Manager John D. Rink. "The lessons we learn from conducting these exercises continue to make emergency response safer and more successful for first responders."
We apologize for any inconvenience and suggest that our Ashland Station customers who plan to travel on Sunday morning, October 27, use Woodcrest or Lindenwold Station as an alternate.
Customers with questions may contact PATCO’s 24/7 Customer Service at 856-772-6900 or 215-922-4600.
