On Thursday, April 16, 2020, PATCO, along with numerous other transit agencies in the region, will participate the 'Sound The Horn' campaign to honor heroic transportation workers both locally and across the United States.
At 3 p.m., several PATCO trains will give two, one-second horn blasts simultaneously. The gesture is intended to honor transportation workers who are on the front lines and who are transporting essential workers throughout their regions.
"Our employees are responsible for providing essential transportation each and every day to real-life heroes during this crisis," PATCO General Manager John Rink said. "The pride that I have in the effort of our employees is impossible to put into words. The 'Sound The Horn' campaign is a simple yet powerful gesture to say thank you to those providing a vital public service."
Trains and buses from NJ Transit and Amtrak are also expected to participate in the 'Sound The Horn' campaign.
