The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) was honored to receive a "Leading Infrastructure Projects Award" from the New Jersey Alliance for Action.
The PATCO Franklin Square Station Reopening Project was named a "2023 New Jersey's Leading Capital Construction Project."
"The Franklin Square project is a great example of what can be done when organizations work as a team to develop a fantastic project," said Gerald T. Keenan, New Jersey Alliance for Action President.
The annual awards ceremony was held on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
The New Jersey Alliance for Action’s "New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Projects" awards program was created to highlight innovative, pioneering and landmark construction initiatives that greatly impact the state’s economy and to honor the businesses and organizations that work together as partners to ensure the project’s success.
The $30M Franklin Square reopening project will allow the station to become fully functional and in-line with existing PATCO stations. The project will address improvements to the station’s civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems and will provide access in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The station is scheduled to reopen in the Spring of 2024.
The award marks the 6th time the DRPA has been honored with an award from the New Jersey Alliance for Action.
