The PATCO Board of Directors today ratified a new four-year contract agreement with Teamsters Local 676. Union members ratified the pact on May 31st. The union currently represents 230 positions at PATCO including all 55 train operators. The old contract expired on May 31st, 2007. The new four year agreement expires on May 31st, 2011. The pact is retroactive to June 1st 2007. The accord calls for a 3% wage increase in each year of the contract. PATCO President John J. Matheussen says “this new agreement is fair to both the Union and PATCO consistent with other recently negotiated contracts.” PATCO President Bob Box says “the negotiations were conducted professionally with give and take by both sides.” The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
