Safety and security on PATCO remain of paramount importance
On Thursday, August 12, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a stabbing incident occurred on the City of Philadelphia’s transit concourse located at 15th and Locust Streets. The altercation occurred between two unsheltered homeless individuals residing in the area. The victim is listed in stable condition. The incident is under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department.
The safety and security of our passengers and employees on the PATCO transit line are our highest priority. PATCO has zero tolerance for criminal activity that impacts the safety and security of our customers and employees. Starting today, and until further notice, DRPA has assigned additional police officers to this area which is under the jurisdiction of the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Police Department. The additional police will provide our customers and employees an increased level of safety while the City of Philadelphia and Office of Homeless Services work to address the situation. The DRPA/PATCO, SEPTA and Philadelphia Police Departments are collaborating partners in reducing crime along the city’s transit lines.
